

Mrs. Rademacher is survived by her 3 children: Norman (Joy) Rademacher of Southport, NC, Gretchen (Peter) Koch of Oak Island, NC and Leesa (Richard) Gallo of East Greenbush, NY. Additionally, Jean is survived by her grandchildren: Kurt (Kara) Rademacher, of Baldwinsville, NY, Heidi Rademacher of South Hadley, MA, Charlotte (Neil) Kumar, of Rochester, NY, George Koch, of Washington, DC, Ben Gallo and Gabi Gallo of East Greenbush, NY and step grandchildren Kim (Kris) Greenhut of Chester Springs, PA, Heather (Dave) Loisel of Laconia, NH and Kate (Alex) Vasilakos of Schenectady, NY. Also Jean treasured her 3 great grandchildren: Jagger and Lorelei Rademacher, and Dhara Kumar, as well as, her step great grandchildren: Kelly and Kathryn Greenhut and Elias Vasilakos. Jean is also survived by her 2 brothers, Dan Schultz of Marcellus, MI and Ken (Terry) Schultz of North Royalton OH and their families.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Norman L Rademacher. She married into a family of 10 siblings and on the Rademacher side; Jean is the last one of her generation to leave us. She is survived many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. Jean is also survived by her life-long friend, Jean Baker, of East Aurora, NY.
Mrs. Rademacher was born, raised and educated in Buffalo, NY. She worked for many years as a feature writer and eventually, retired as the People Editor of The Citizen in Auburn NY. It was a career Jean was perfectly suited for; she was a great speller and she loved to talk to people and hear their stories. After retirement, Jean moved to Seneca Falls, NY and was an active community volunteer, working with the Seneca Falls Library, Seneca County Children’s Committee and the United Way of Seneca County.
Jean loved to play cards and will be missed at many bridge tables both in NY and NC. She loved her large family, gardens, laughter, all dogs, books and a glass of wine.
Her family would like to thank Jean’s extended family at Carillon Assisted Living, Dr. Ryan Tighe, and Dr. James McCriskin, the doctors, nurses and staff at Novant Health Center and especially, Dr. Rebecca Summerlin, the nurses and staff at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick for their loving care of our mother.
Mrs. Rademacher will be buried next to her husband at a private service in Auburn, NY at the convenience of the family.
