John Jeffrey Limpert

Mr. Limpert was born on April 3rd,1952, son of the late John V. Limpert (Jack) and Anne Thornton Lowry. After the tragic death of Jack when he was a toddler Anne remarried Malcolm Lowry and John became an integral part of their family.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Limpert; three children, Alex Sanders and wife Kelly, Ben Sanders, Alina Limpert; three grandchildren, Landon, Libby and Bella Sanders; three brothers, Brad Lowry, Andy Lowry and wife Delores, Doug Lowry and wife Nancy.

John was a graduate of Kenyon College in 1974 and earned his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University in 1976. He began his career as an actuary with Royal Insurance (now RSA insurance group) in NYC. In 1978, John was sent for 2 years to work at the companies headquarters in Liverpool, England. He eventually advanced to Chief Actuary with Royal. Thanks to the fortuitous relocation of Royal to Charlotte, John met Karen. The two were wed in June, 1995 and enjoyed thirty one years together. John was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. Spending time with family was special to him. He loved sports and especially European soccer. John spent the last 10 years with Karen at their home on Bald Head Island, where they enjoyed some of the most precious moments of their lives together.

A celebration of John's life will be held June 6, 2026 at 11:00 am at the chapel on Bald Head Island.
