Mrs. Shashura was born April 23, 1944 in Gary, Indiana, daughter of the late Raymond and Anne Maxwell. She lived most of her life in Portage, Indiana. She and her husband Mickey retired to Southport in 2002. Mrs. Shashura was a Dosher Memorial Hospital Volunteer and also volunteered with the Brunswick Senior Resource Center in Southport and Supply. June was very creative, she was an avid painter and crafter. She sold her crafts at various markets throughout the area. June was a true servant of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne Shashura and husband Jeff Cramner of Kannapolis, NC; a brother, Clifford Maxwell and wife Mary; two nieces, Laurel Slagle and husband Gary, and Melinda Baker and husband John; and her beloved kitty, Tuxie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy "Mickey" Shashura.
A celebration of her life will be held in Kannapolis at a future date.
