Katelynn was born December 13, 1995, daughter of Kevin McCorkle and Jennifer File Yandle. She was a 2014 graduate of West Brunswick High School and worked as a waitress at Duffers Restaurant and The Fish House.
Survivors include her father, Kevin McCorkle of Shallotte; her mother Jennifer McCorkle Yandle and step-father Scott Yandle of Oak Island; brothers Cliffton Garcia and Maxwell McCorkle; step-brothers Corey and Ryan Yandle; maternal grandmother Mary Barks of Granite City, Illinois; maternal grandfather David File and wife Bobbi File of East Alton, Illinois; aunts Tammy Larsh and Katie Cato; uncles Mike McCorkle, Gary and Rick Cato; cousins Ciera Horton, Dusty McCorkle, William Spainhour, Alan Spainhour, Kel Larsh and Michael Flores; and a special second cousin, Owen Bell.
A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at The Point in Oak Island.
