Margaret Ann McCauley, age 78, of Oak Island, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Margaret was born December 23, 1943 on Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late William and Labena Lauer.
She is survived by her husband, Robert McCauley of Oak Island; her daughter, Shannon Maier of Ephrata, Pennsylvania; her son Timothy O'Toole of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and her step-daughter, Colleen Weideman of Glassboro, New Jersey; her siblings, Irene Mosca, John (Sue) Lauer, William (Andrea) Lauer, and Elizabeth (Tom) Ginnetti; as well as her six grandchildren.
Margaret was proud to have ran skilled nursing floors at Abington Hospital and Warminster Hospital in Pennsylvania. She also worked as a nanny, having helped bring up two beloved children, Gillian and Jake Diestel. She enjoyed taking long walks, bike rides, and finding seashells at the beach. She was a fun loving lady who was like a kid at heart. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A Catholic Prayer Service for Mrs. McCauley will be held on Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 at the Peacock-Newnam & White Chapel in Southport with Deacon Rick Autry of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating.
