Peggy Jean Driggers

Born February 4, 1934 in Lynchburg South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Rillie Redell Driggers, Sr. and the late Lila Belle McLeod Driggers. Peggy was a proud graduate of Campbell University where she

studied Business Administration. She held many positions with the US Government then obtaining her Real Estate License. Peggy was a devout Christian and a member Winter Park Baptist Church.

Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Sloan and her brother, Rillie Redell “Sonny” Driggers.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Sloan of Southport, NC; a son, Glenn Sloan and wife Dawn; and a very special granddaughter, Jillian Sloan of Wilmington, NC; sister, Jeannette Irene Burger of Texas; and sister in law, Gloria Driggers of Asheboro. Nieces, Rhonda Burger, Sherri Barnett and husband Brad, Traci Greenwood and husband Jody; nephews, Ronald Burger and wife Gail, and Kenneth Burger and wife Tracy.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Bluefields Memory Care for the care and compassion shown as well as the staff of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 12, 2025 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina or to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
