Born March 25, 1947 in Washington, D.C., he was a son of Joe and Gertrude Burdoo. Ron attended the University of Maryland, where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. In 1968 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a radarman on the U.S.S. Independence for 4 years. It was during this time that Linda Pfaff met the love of her life, and they were inseparable from that point forward.
They were married in November of 1974. They spent the early years of their marriage skiing and building a strong foundation for their family. They lived and raised their family in Silver Spring, MD. As a family they enjoyed their summers boating on the Chesapeake Bay. They were members of the Chesapeake Yacht Club in Shady Side, MD. Ron was known as an incredible captain and earned the moniker “Captain Ron” for his skill at the helm. Ron loved fishing trips with friends and competing in the Rockfish Tournament on the Bay. He loved playing blackjack, poker, LRC and shooting craps, along with Connect 4 tournaments. He loved inviting friends over for porch wine. Ron’s love of music was evident every time family and friends were gathered. Well-known in Maryland as the proprietor of Town Hall Tavern in College Park, MD. He was proud of the legacy his parents began.
