

She was born December 5th 1954 and deceased March 20th 2026.
She was a loving and caring mother, wife, family member, & friend to many people. She touched countless lives in the community as a professional drama director & teacher in the world of live theater. Rosina was born in Ithaca, New York to Vito & Rosina Mason. She was the 5th Rosina in the maternal line and was raised in Silver Spring, MD. Rosina graduated from American University where her father taught as a tenured chorus professor and conductor. Rosina married in 1992. She ran her own theater company in Washington D.C. and taught at Montgomery Co. Community College. Her family lived in York, PA, 1997-2005 where she was employed by York Little Theater & various area schools.
They moved to Greensboro, NC where she was employed at the City Arts Drama Center from 2005 until retirement in 2020. She lived in Oak Island, NC 2021-present. Wherever she went, Rosina focused her work on children's theater providing artistic opportunities for the youth. She was a pillar of the community locally, directing plays at Brunswick Little Theater & South Brunswick High School.
She is survived by her loving husband Dan Whitfield, son Skyler Whitfield & grandson Wyatt as well as her sisters Rebecca & Joli & many nieces, nephews, children & grandchildren-in-law.
Her service will be held at Ocean View United Methodist Church on Sunday March 29th at 3pm.
