

Sam was born on November 1, 1945 to Mary Ramsey Morrow and Williams Russell Morrow in Troutman, NC. Sam served his country in the Vietnam War, where he received multiple honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Service Star Medal, and sharpshooter designation.
After his time in the service, Sam returned to Statesville, NC, where he opened up R&S Amoco. In 1982, Sam moved to Long Beach with the love of his life, Pam. Sam worked at Yaupon Exxon over the years before opening up Coastal Automotive with his business partner, Billy Taylor in 1988. Sam enjoyed working at Coastal until retirement.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Tristan Benton.
Sam is survived by the love of his life, Pamela Mills Morrow, son Russell (Maria) Morrow; daughters, Angela (Mark) Peterson and Amy (Tony) Powell; grandchildren, Lee (Haley) and Dakota Benton, Jared Peterson, Maddie, Elizabeth and Sam Morrow; and great grandchildren, Kal-El Benton and Novalee Falcone. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Redman; nephew, Danny (Jeanette) Redman and special nephew, Keith (Laurie) Redman; and their children Tristan and Faith.
Sam will be remembered for his love of his beautiful wife, his kind giving heart and his great sense of humor.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 27, 2026 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be officiated by Rev. Danny Redman and Keith Redman.
