Gail Petrosa

Gail Baron Petrosa, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Gail was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1940 to Louis and Mildred Baron. Gail was a resident of Carriage Hills Condominiums in Hollywood, Florida since 1997, where she relocated to from Miami, Florida. While living in Miami, Gail was employed as an executive assistant for many years at Baxter Pharmaceuticals. After moving to Hollywood, Gail became a member of New Horizon Methodist Church in Davie, Florida. While she quickly became an active part of the church community, she always held her Jewish heritage very close to her heart. For the last 25 plus years of her life, Gail’s world revolved around her grandchildren, Angela Petrosa Gasper, Sarah Waters and Hannah Waters, all of whom she helped raise like the true matriarch she was.

Gail was preceded in death by her father and mother, Louis and Mildred Baron, and by her loving husband Robert Petrosa. Gail is survived by her son Hal Petrosa, daughter Andrea Petrosa Waters, “son” Richard Waters, granddaughters Angela Petrosa Gasper, Sarah Waters, and Hannah Waters, great-granddaughter Amelia Joy Gasper and many, many beloved cousins, relatives, friends and neighbors.

Gail’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers, charitable donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of her favorite charities.

Chapel services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Menorah Gardens & Funeral Chapel, 21100 W Griffin Rd., Southwest Ranches, Florida 33332
