Cynthia Jayne Rabe Kurpiewski loved life. She loved her husband, children, and family deeply and completely. She loved her friends, her friend’s friends, and her children’s friends. She loved her dogs, her daughter’s dog, and other people’s dogs. She loved digging her hands into the soil and walking barefoot in her garden. She loved threading a sewing machine or casting onto knitting needles and creating beautiful things for the people she loved. She loved to make other people laugh and she loved to give generously to others her time, her affection, her vast wisdom and sage advice. She loved growing orchids, spotting red tail hawks, skiing on fresh powder, winning games of Scrabble, traveling with her husband Philip, and snorkeling with sea turtles.
Born on September 4, 1956, Cindy left her body on June 14, 2017 (the 12th anniversary of her beloved father George’s death) at the age of 60 after a courageous battle with cancer. She inspired many with her strength, grace, and sense of humor in the face of illness. She will be dearly missed by her husband Phil, her children Peter and Evelyn, her mother Jean, all of her siblings, nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
In order to respect her vast network of friends and loved ones, anyone who had the great privilege of knowing Cindy will be received at a later date for a joyous celebration of her life.
