Edward was born to Anna (nee Kundrat) and Peter Murzenski in Duryea, Pa in 1938.
He was raised in the Ironbound Section of Newark, NJ, graduated from East Side High School in 1956, and attended Rutgers University.
Ed entered the United States Army in 1961, and served, proudly, as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, NC, where he was Honorably Discharged in 1963.
Edward was in the Persian and Oriental Rug Business for over 50 years. Upon retiring, he was employed at Black Bear and Ballyowen Golf Clubs for more than 15 years, where he was known for his short order cook skills, including his world famous “breakfast burrito.” When he wasn’t focusing on his chef skills, during his retirement years, you could always find him on the golf course with his son, grandson, and valued friends which would bring him immense joy.
When Ed was not on the golf course, you could find him doing the other things he loved, which was gardening and tending to his tomato plants.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (nee Coppola) of 61 years, his daughter Laura Fitzgerald (Brian), son Michael Murzenski and cherished grandchildren, Jack and Jenna Fitzgerald. _
He leaves behind sister Lorraine Fasullo (late Raymond) brother Arthur Murzenski (Kathleen), sister Jean Clarson (late Michael). He is predeceased by his sister, Maryan Sasso (late Jerry) and brother Donald.
A memorial service in Edward’s honor will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception at Seton Hall University Campus, 400 S. Orange Ave., South Orange, NJ.
