

Gisela Trimarchi, born on June 25, 1935, in Bacharach, Germany, passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 90. She spent most of her life in Connecticut and resided in Sparta, New Jersey, for the past three years.
Gisela was married to Salvatore Trimarchi, who predeceased her. They met in Germany and moved to America to marry into his large Italian family. She is also predeceased by her son, Salvatore Trimarchi, her parents, Heinrich and Elizabeth Sanger (Hetzel), and her siblings, Horst Hetzel and his wife Irene, and Maria Kukier and her husband Stanley.
She is survived by her daughters, Michaela, and her husband John Whitney, and Deborah, and her husband Robert Bailor. Gisela also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, John Michael Whitney and his wife Michelle, Joseph Whitney and his wife Matlin, Linnea, and Arran Bailor.
Gisela was known for her love of hosting parties, and her home was a welcoming gathering place for friends and family. She had a green thumb, filling her house with plants and fresh flowers. A devoted dog lover, she was inseparable from her last dog, Tucker, whose ashes will be buried with her.
Gisela enjoyed knitting, playing cards and mahjong, having lunch and shopping with friends, dancing, and exercising. She deeply loved her grandchildren, her many friends, and extended family, as well as her German heritage. Gisela wished to be remembered as a good friend, someone who gave with an open heart, and someone who loved to have a good time.
Visitation will be held at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta, NJ, on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
