Gregory B. Holowach, 57, of Sparta, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous “Never Give Up” determined positive attitude. Greg was born in Passaic, NJ , graduated from Sparta High School and received his Bachelor’s in Finance from Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ in 1982. Greg joined Dell EMC in 2011; he was their Vice President and led their Americas and Global Managed Services sales team where he built an outstanding reputation achieving world class results, most recently culminating in being recognized as Virtustream ‘Sales Manager of the Year in 2017’. Greg was active in many Sparta youth athletics, while supporting his three sons in their chosen sports at Sparta High School. Greg is an avid Giants fan having season tickets for the last 14 years and always enjoyed tailgating and going to the Giants games with his boys. Greg also enjoyed travelling, golfing, boating on Lake Hopatcong, his Porsche, Corvette, his beloved Maltese “Sally”, and many family and friends. Greg’s boys ran the “Philadelphia Love Run” under the motto “STRONG4GH” and successfully raised money and awareness through their college fraternities, family, and friends to support research and find a cure for colorectal cancer. Greg is predeceased by his beloved mother Jeanne and his parents-in-law Andrew and Linda Massey. Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years Lorna (Massey) Holowach both graduates of Sparta his devoted children: Ryan of Rochester, NY; Colin of Boston, MA; and Tyler of Antwerp, Belgium; father Basil Holowach; sister, Sandra Browne and her husband Thomas of Londonderry, New Hampshire, brother, Robert Holowach and his wife Margie of Sussex, and brother-in-law Todd Massey and his wife Jen of Charlotte North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. Friends may come Thursday March 22 from 2-8 pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. Friends and family may meet at Goble Funeral Home 8:30 am Friday for an 11am funeral mass to be held at St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church, 75 N. Main St, Florida, NY 10921. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions/checks may be made out to “Sparta High School” and mailed to Sparta High School Guidance, Holowach Scholarship Fund, 70 West Mountain Road, Sparta NJ 07871.
