

Jim is survived by his wife, Carol; his three children Michael, Richard, and Christina; and his granddaughter Adelyn.
In 1956, Jim enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served through 1959 and transferred to reserve status through 1962. He served with the 2nd Marine Division and was among the first Marines that landed in Lebanon as part of a major U.S. intervention action in 1958.
Jim’s career was that of English literature professor and administrator for the County College of Morris and English literature professor at Saint Peters College. Jim also served the Lake Mohawk and Sparta Township community as President and Board of Trustees member of Lake Mohawk Country Club during the 1990s, Sparta councilman, and Sparta mayor (2001 and 2003).
A visitation for James will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 15th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Kateri Church, 427 Stanhope Rd., Sparta, NJ 07871. A graveside service will immediately follow at Sparta Cemetery, 32 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund ( https://www.mcsf.org/donate ) or Saint Jude’s Children Hospital ( https://www.stjude.org/give.html )
