Born on May 4, 1943, to the late Elmer and Stella Morris, JoAnne spent most of her life in the same close-knit community, where she was known for her warm heart, green thumb, and the deep love she had for her family.
JoAnne worked as a talented seamstress for many years. With nimble fingers and a sharp eye for detail, she stitched everything from everyday clothes to special occasion garments with the utmost precision. JoAnne’s work was trusted and treasured by her employers, and she took great pride in her craft until her retirement.
There was nowhere JoAnne felt more at home than in her flower gardens. From the first signs of spring to the final blooms of fall, she could be found tending to her beloved flowers. During the growing season, you could be sure to find JoAnne’s yard awash with the beautiful colors of each bloom.
JoAnne’s weekly Walmart trip was more than just a trip to the grocery store; it was a bonafide social outing. She made it her duty on those trips to share a smile or a simple hello and brighten the days of those around her.
Above all else, JoAnne cherished her family. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Richard, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. JoAnne’s nieces and nephews were the lights of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to say, “I’m thinking of you.”
JoAnne is survived by her beloved brother, Charles Morris; nieces, Debra L. Hotalen (Henry Wesolwoski), Chrissy Regeling (Robert), Debra Seebeck, and Susan Kassner (Robert); nephews, Harold Hotalen (Dawne), Wayne Hotalen, William Hotalen (Corrina), Russell Hotalen (Diane Trudgen), Earl Hotalen, Charles Hotalen (Carla Crawn), Elmer Morris IV, and Robert Strader (Joyce). She also leaves behind many cherished great- and great great- nieces and nephews.
