

Rockaway, NJ- Norman J. Rodriguez went peacefully home to the Lord, at his residence on Monday, May 23, 2016. He was 81. Norman was born in Witherbee, New York to Pio and Concepcion (Arias) Rodriguez. He resided for 57 years in Dover, NJ. Norman served his country proudly in the US Army as a Paratrooper during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist for many years with Westinghouse, retiring in 1985. Previously, he had worked in the mines in Witherbee, NY as well as United Parcel Service. He enjoyed golfing and spending quality time with his family and especially his four grandsons. Predeceasing Norman was his beloved wife, RoseAnn in 2011. Surviving him are his two daughters, Michele Olex and her husband Fred, and Danielle Dean and her husband Timothy. He is also survived by his four cherished grandsons, Benjamin and Nicholas Olex, and Hunter and Thomas Dean. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Armando Rodriguez, sister-in-law, Michele Purdue, many nieces and nephews, and his three beloved grand-dogs. Family and friends are invited Thursday 2~4 and 6~8 pm to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. A 10 am Mass will be celebrated Friday at St. Kateri Tekakwitha RC Church, Sparta, NJ.
