
Byram – Paul M. Tanner, D.M.D., M.S., 60, passed away unexpectedly at home on July 23, 2011. He was raised in Jersey City and lived in Byram for 38 years where he raised his family.
Dr. Tanner was an Endodontist. He earned his advanced degrees from New York University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry, and Columbia University. His professional career included private dental practices in Fredon, NJ, Middletown, NY, and Westfall, PA. In addition, Dr. Tanner was a Clinical Professor of Dentistry at Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry and the Director of the Endodontics Department at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital, Columbia University.
He was a loving and caring husband and father. He was involved in his children’s activities and volunteered as an assistant coach for Byram Girls Softball and as a committee member for Boy Scout Troop 276.
Dr. Tanner is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marjorie, his son, Christopher, and his daughters, Elyse and Marissa. He was predeceased by his daughter, Corinne, as well as his parents and brother. He will be remembered for his kind touch, loving heart, warm hugs, and contagious laughter.
