I'm not sure I would has made it through if it wasn't for Mr I.   He would come in to my restaurant with his lovely family,  he saw how hard I worked at such a young age and allowed me to rest during his class.  He let me hand in my papers when I could.  He truly helped me so much I will forever be grateful.   Rest in the sweetest  of peace . My deepest condolences to his friends. Steve's passing will leave a great gap in many lives, as he was a positive influence on so many.  We were lucky have had such a terrific person in our lives, even for a short time. I never thought in a million years, that today I would be saying goodbye to a beloved teacher, coach and above all a wonderful friend, but that is my reality. I know from first hand experience the positive impact that a teacher can have on their students, and to say that Steve Iannotta has had a positive impact on my life is an understatement to say the very least. One of the main reasons I became a teacher was because of Coach I. I idolized him as a student, I worshiped and respected him as a coach, and I cherished him as a friend. His sage advice, his guidance, his friendship, and above all his welcoming arms with the exclamation, "L Dubbs!" will be forever missed.Heaven has certainly gained another angel. I will forever cherish the memories that I have with Coach I and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have known such a wonderful person.

My heart ❤ is filled with sorrow after hearing of such sad news.  I shared my lunch with Steve at Walkill for many years along with several others.  We shared recipes and enjoyed many laughs together Everyone knows how much Steve loved to cook and always brought his chili for all of us to share. Taylor ham egg n cheese that would be the all time favorite. He spoke so often of the love of his family and his love of Bemis. Mr. Iannotta student taught during my sophomore year at Butler. He handled a tough class with ease and I really liked him.  I was glad when he began working at Butler full time as he was so nice and fun to talk to. I'm sorry sorry to hear about this sudden and unexpected loss. I'm sure this will be very hard for his family and the students he was close with. 
He set a great example and clearly loved what he did.

Seems like yesterday the Iannotta's moved in 2 doors up the street from my family's home. Nice family from the neighborhood. Just so sad to lose Steve at such a young age. Condolences from the Bender Family.

I used to have Mr. Iannotta as my biology teacher back in my sophomore year at Wallkill in 2009. My friend Michele and I would draw a new picture of Mr. I every week in lab and hang it on the wall. He would come over and check out the new picture, usually nodding his head and asking questions if he was confused about something, but he left them there for the whole year. We called it the "Mir. I Gallery" and even made a vibrant, multicolored sign for it. It accumulated about nine or ten full pictures by the end of the year. We offered to give them to him, but he laughed and said he didn't want them, so I took them all home. I still have those pictures sitting in an old folder.

He was a really fun teacher. He was funny and if he was ever in a bad mood, he never showed it to his students. As you can tell from the "Mr. I Gallery" we made, he had a great sense of humor, too. I loved the stories he would share in class; they helped me learn and remember the material as well as get a good laugh out of everyone. He was so intelligent and knew so many things about science. He was one of my favorite high school teachers. I was really upset when my younger sister (who had him this year) told me about his passing. He touched the lives of so many people. I don't think I could ever forget him or his love of Bosco chocolate syrup. :) 


My deepest condolences to his family. There are no true words to express my sorry. But he was an amazing person, and I didn't know him even a quarter as well as you. Just know that I am not the only student that feels he made a positive difference in their life. I know there were many others who loved him, including my younger sister and her classmates who will miss having him teach them every day. His loss was too soon, but his essence will live on.

Mr. I, you were one of the nicest people I've met, and I am glad that you got to be in my life. Being the kind of teacher you were had a great impact on a very shy high school student. I wish I had been more outgoing and gotten to know you better, including after I graduated. Thank you for all you've done. Having you as a teacher has been invaluable, and I will treasure the memories I have forever.

Mr. Iannotta was my high school biology teacher. While I didn't pursue biology, he helped foster my interest in science, and now I am a science teacher, just like him. I remember he was so committed to getting his concepts across he'd reach the point of absurdity- grabbing a stool as a "plant" and shoving it in and out of a closet to get us to understand when photosynthesis versus cellular respiration happens. This, among many examples, are things that I will carry with me- the passion for teaching, and the joy in watching his students learn from him. I never got the chance to tell him the difference he made in my life, and I'll regret that. Thanks, Mr. Iannotta- you won't be forgotten.

I was privileged to have had the opportunity to teach Steven, coach Steven and have Steven as a colleague all at Lenape Valley.  Steve made an indelible mark on the Lenape Valley community as well as the other school districts that he went on to teach and coach at.  Fortunate are those who can say "Steve Iannotta was my teacher, my coach, my friend".  The legacy of Steve and the entire Iannotta family runs deep at Lenape Valley - there is no finer family nor finer individual.  To Steve's Dad, his brothers Mike and Ray, and his sister Cheryl, to his wife and children, in-laws, nieces and nephews - my deepest sympathies.  I, like so many others, love the Iannotta family and love all the things that Steve stood for.  I pray that during this most difficult time, that you all find comfort in knowing that so many lives were touched by Steve and that so many people care.  God Bless you all.
