

Sparta, NJ- William G. Stecklein passed into eternal rest on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Morristown, NJ. He was 81. William was born in Dubuque, Iowa to George and Mildred (nee Kennicker) Stecklein and has resided in Sparta for the past 16 years. He previously lived in the Cranbury Lake section of Byram Township. William was the former owner of The Red Bull Inn in Bridgewater, NJ and other restaurants, and worked for 75 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member and treasurer of the Knoll Heights Association in Sparta, Andover POST 0086 of the American Legion, and, local #12 International Union of Operating Engineers, Los Angeles, CA. He loved fishing, cooking and in his earlier life was involved in politics while in Las Vegas, Nevada. Predeceasing William are four brothers; Robert, Harley, Dave and Joseph, and his sister; Diane, and his step-son; Christopher Beyer (1987). He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years; Ginger (nee- Christiansen), a step-son; Douglas Beyer and his wife Tracey, and three granddaughters; Kaleigh, Rachel, and Madison Beyer. A memorial service will be celebrated at Sparta United Methodist Church on Saturday March, 14, 2015 at 2 pm. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Sparta United Methodist Church, 71 Sparta Avenue, Sparta, NJ 07871. Arrangements have been entrusted to Goble Funeral Home, Sparta, NJ.
