Bernadine Parrill

Was born to Minnie and Clarence Sawyer on November 30, 1917 in Davenport, Washington. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Ann Stephen and younger brother, John Sawyer. She was raised in the Spokane Valley. She attended Vera Grade School, Central Valley High School and Kinman Business University. In 1938 she married Robert W. Parrill and had an ideal life. They had 2 children, Tom and Rogene. Tom passed away in 1994. She had 3 grandchildren, Maggie (Uttke) Richerson, Jim Uttke and Lawrence Uttke. She had five great great grandchildren, Victoria, Timathy, Ryan, Kennedy and Penelope. Bernie had her own drapery business for 10 years and worked as a secretary at Opportunity Elementary School in the CV School District or 15 years. Bob and Bernie built and maintained 12 rentals for 50+ years and she kept them going after Bob’s passing in 1995. She loved her old school friends, traveling, and oil or watercolor painting landscapes. Along with the previously mentioned family, she also had nieces and nephews, Marcia & Kent Sands of Joseph, OR and their three children, Stephen, Kendall and Anne; Jinae and Shane Carr of New Mexico; Eleanor Smythe of San Diego, CA and Pat & Kay Brawley of Sacramento, CA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 2:00pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
