Bernice Bernie Adeline Smith

Bernie graduated from North Central High School and she later received her Associates Degree in Nursing. She married Roy G. Smith in Fort Worth, TX on August 16, 1973. Bernie worked as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) for many years, working for Rockwood Clinic, Maplewood Gardens and Group Health. She had a passion for traveling, especially down roads she had never been down and she enjoyed many scenic drives. She loved spending time at the ocean and she enjoyed writing as well as all music. Bernie is survived by her husband, Roy Smith of Newman Lake, WA; children, Eva M. Smith and Adam D. Smith of Spokane, WA, Jim Smith of Newman Lake, WA and Jim (Susie) Lancaster of Austin, TX; their children, James, Katie, Josie, Emma and Jedidiah. Also surviving are two sisters; Beverly A. Stills of Spokane, WA, Bonnie A. (R.L.) Deweese of Cleburne, TX and her dearest friend Sherry (Jim) Cunningham of Otis Orchards, WA. Her parents Leroy and Goldie preceded her in death. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Tracey Tupper and Trisha Brouwer at Hospice of Spokane for their care of Bernie.
