Beverly & Douglas Lee

Beverly Lowe Gillett Lee, born at home in Spokane to Harlin and Inez Gillett, January 16, 1933, joining her brother Harlin. She passed away December 17, 2022. Beverly attended Hamilton Grade School before moving to Moses Lake in 1942. She loved visiting her grandfather’s cabin on Black Lake, ID, learning to fish and ride horses. After graduating from MLHS, she married Gerald W Schmidt (deceased). This union welcomed Susan (Scott) Bayton, Evita (Lyle) Krislock, and Gerald (Carlie) Schmidt. She settled in Morton WA, where with the support of her mother, provided an example of love, service, faith, travel and adventure. She was active in her church and community, volunteering as PTA president, Girl Scout Leader and helping where and as needed. In 1967, she and husband Russel Wright, moved to Bellevue where she volunteered for Bellevue Ski School, learning to ski, later becoming a National Ski Patrol at White Pass. In 2019 she met and married Douglas KCA Lee. Together they traveled to visit his family in Hawaii and friends throughout the PNW. They were active in the Pacific Islanders community in Spokane, Church of the Resurrection, and Advent Lutheran. She had the softest spot for any stray and would rescue any that might need a home. She actively organized and supported the MLHS Alumni Association for thirty years.

Mom’s proudest accomplishments were her children, and her efforts to help people find or sell their homes. She was a ‘can do’ woman. She leaves behind her children and step son, Douglas (Angela) Lee, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, her first great great grandchild is due in May. She had dear friends whom she loved, thank you for being a part of her life. A special thanks for Dignity Care Adult Family Home and Horizon Hospice. There will be a combined celebration of lives, April 15th, 2023 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 12th and Grand, Spokane. Aloha attire, and or flowers in your hair, welcomed.

Douglas Kekuaokaloaualailiahi Cobb-Adams Lee, aka Douglas K.C.A. Lee came from humble sources as a 3rd generation Cave Man. Born October 18, 1936 in Honolulu, HI, to Grebell Cob-Adams and Alfred Burton, passed away May 3, 2020 from COVID. He was adopted by his auntie, Gertrude Cobb-Adams and William Lee. On December 7, 1941 he watched the attack on Pearl Harbor, witnessing planes crashing. At 18 he enlisted in the Army I Company 35 INF Reg. 7th INF Division, Camp Kaiser, Kumhwa Korea. After discharge from the army he enlisted in the Air National Guard, Hickman AFB. He served as an E5 Crew Chief the 15years as Flight Chief. He served with pride and honor. He was active in church, singing in the choir, and helping where ever needed. He supported the Veterans and served in the Honor Guard, American Legion Post 241. He is survived by son Douglas (Angela) Lee, step children, Susan (Scott), Evita (Lyle), Gerald (Carlie), 16 grandchildren, half brother John Burton, half sisters Pru Williams and Ruth McQuade.

His greatest, proudest accomplishments: Not dying until now, his son Douglas KCA Lee II, driving across the country twice, ocean to ocean in 1964 and again in 1974.
