Clyde R. Wisenor

Clyde was born December 31, 1940 at his grandmother Wisenor’s home in Grangeville, Idaho to Wesley Wisenor and Mabel Marks Wisenor. Clyde lost his battle with Myeloid Leukemia on March 15, 2015, due to a staph infection. Clyde lived at a sheep ranch on the Snake River in Oregon with his parents until he was seven years old. The family moved to Joseph, OR where they lived for four years. Then they moved to Whitebird, Idaho for three more years before moving to Grangeville, ID. Clyde graduated from Grangeville High School in 1959. After graduation he went to Denver, CO to attend the National Electronics Institute for his electrician’s degree. While in Denver he married Kathy Pfeffer, his high school sweetheart. They had two sons, Ken and Kevin. They moved back to Grangeville where Clyde worked as an electrician until 1965 when they moved Spokane, WA. He worked as a meat cutter until 1969 when he was hired by the Spokane Valley Fire Department, where he worked until he retired as a Division Chief. Clyde and Kathy divorced and he married Coleen Miller Thies in 1978. They lived in Spokane Valley the remainder of his life. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling and mostly spending time with family. He is survived by his wife Coleen; sons Ken/Tina and Kevin/Carrie Wisenor; stepchildren Ron/Sherri Thies, Henry/Julene McGuire and Terry/Darla Kopczynski all of Spokane, WA; brothers Roy/Alice Wisenor of Lewiston, ID and Bill/Millie Wisenor of Whitebird, ID; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A special thanks to Dr. Njuguna and his staff at Cancer Care NW for all of their care and compassion. They were a blessing in Clyde’s life. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Spokane Valley Fire Department Benevolent Fund, P.O. Box 1364, Spokane Valley, WA 99037 or Cancer Care Northwest, 1204 N. Vercler Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99216. A memorial celebration will be held at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA on Friday, March 27th at 2:00pm.
