

Evangeline passed away January 9, 2022 in Spokane, WA. She was born January 30, 1920 to William and Martha Blanchfield in Napavine, WA. The family moved to Puyallup when she was three years old and she lived there into her last year of high school. Throughout the Depression, she did the neighbor’s hair and received food in exchange.
Evangeline moved to Tacoma, WA and finished her senior year at Stadium High School. Following graduation, she attended Beauty and Business College. She met Sedro Sofear, the love of her life at a YWCA dance. During WWII, she moved to Bremerton, WA and then Pearl Harbor in Hawaii to work as a clerk typist and marry her beloved in 1945. She deeply loved her husband Sedro “Jackie” of 68 years and daughter Jacqueline.
Evangeline is survived by daughter Jacqueline Kehaunani of Honolulu, HI; niece Nameleuokalani Baker (Steve), great nephew Alexander (Sangeetha) and great great nephew Kiaan, of Palos Verdes, CA; niece Vickie Davis (Howard), great nephew3s Howie and Eric, and great great nephew Austin of Puyallup, WA; and niece Julie Baker (Ken) of Spokane, WA; great nephew Zachary (Melissa) and great great nephew Brayden of Great Falls, MT; and great nephew Joshua (Molly) of Spokane, WA.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the gravesite in Kaneohe, HI at a later date.
