Hugh passed away on May 14, 2025 in the Spokane Valley. He was born in Seltice, WA on the family farm on September 8, 1927, to Homer and Alice Thompson. He is a graduate of Tekoa High School and worked at Haskin's Steel for 39 years. He loved spending time with family and going to his cabin that he called his home away from home.
Hugh was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; and son, Tim; his parents; five brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Gary Thompson, Leonard Thompson and wife, Patty; daughter, Tammy Waddell and husband, Bruce; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Hugh will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM. A reception follows, and then graveside at Mica Peak Cemetery.
