

When Jessie was about five the family moved to Reno, Nevada so the children could attend school. Jessie's father passed away when she was thirteen and she and older brother Lige left school in order to work to help their mother and four younger children.
In 1930 Jessie married Nathan Holmes of Petaluma, California. The couple lived there about three years before moving to Susanville, California where Jessie lived for the next 70 years.
Jessie always had a big beautiful vegetable and flower garden. She enjoyed playing her guitar and singing. With Nathan, the love of her life she enjoyed many happy hours deer and bear hunting and trout fishing.
In 2003 Jessie moved to Greenacres, Washington to live with her daughter and was there until her death.
Jessie is survived by her daughter Constance Bittick of Greenacres, WA; her son Stanley Holmes of Vail, AZ; four grandchildren, Roger Bittick of Aurora, CO, Gary Bittick (Debra) of Vail, AZ, Tammy Miller (Rick) of Smyrna, DE and Charles Holmes (Nichole) of Kent, WA; six great grandchildren and two great great grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.
Jessie will be laid to rest next to her husband Nathan Holmes at the Janesville Cemetery in Janesville, Caifornia.
