She was born Kimberly Ann Nason on November 11, 1972, in San Bernardino, CA, to Doug and Cheryl Nason, joining half-sister Tracy. Soon after, they settled back in Spokane, where the family expanded with siblings Tina, Shawn, Amanda, and Ariann.
At 18, Kim married her first husband, Michael Ottmar, and joyfully welcomed two children in quick succession: Savannah in 1991, Jacob in 1993. After some time in the Wenatchee area and a divorce, Kim built another beloved branch to her family with Alex Galindo back in Spokane, bringing along two new stepdaughters, Aubrey and Ayanna.
Kim and Alex married in 2001, and the final piece to their family was completed in 2012 with the arrival of son Kaiden. Kim and Alex were married until his death in 2019. She found companionship again with Chukwuebuka "Henry" Edogo, married in 2024.
Kim spent time at home early on raising her kids, and she worked hard at many jobs through her life to support their needs. In recent years, she took to traveling the country and world, and it was a joy to see her blossom in this confidence. We remember her fondly for her delicious home cooking, her big personality, contagious laugh, and playful joking, and for all the brightness she brought (in clothing and spirit!) to all who knew her.
Her biggest legacy, and the one we want others to remember her for, is her open-hearted hospitality; her front door was always open for guests, and our lives were enriched by a constant flow of friends new and old. She was generous in hosting summer barbecues, huge drop-in Thanksgivings, and random weeknight get-togethers with neighbors, coworkers, far-flung family members passing through, and more—all were welcome at Kimberly’s table, as long as you didn’t mind a heartfelt chat along with it.
We miss her deeply but hope her spirit finally enjoys the rest and peace she could not attain on earth.
Kimberly is survived by her husband, Henry; children Savannah (Gavin), Aubrey, Jacob (Cassie), Ayanna, and Kaiden; bonus daughter Samantha and grandchildren Leo and Simona; her mother Cheryl; her many siblings, half-siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins uncountable. She was preceded in death by her husband Alex and father Doug.
Viewing will be at Thornhill Valley Chapel on Friday, 5/30 from 3pm to 5pm. Celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
