

Juana McKinley passed away on August 3, 2011 in Spokane, Washington. Juana was born in Rexburg, Idaho on March 28, 1923 to Elvin Lorenzo Keppner and Luella Agnes (Saurey) Keppner. After graduating from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho, Juana attended Ricks College (now B.Y.U. Idaho) in Rexburg, Idaho. While attending Ricks College, Juana met her husband James R. McKinley and they were married May 22, 1942. Jim spent three and a half years in Europe during World War II. After the war was over, Jim and Juana moved to Spokane, Washington where they lived for over sixty years. In Spokane, they built a business, a life long home, and raised their family of four children, Brent, Beverlee, Bruce and Brad. Juana was a life long active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (L.D.S) and she served in many church callings. As a homemaker, she maintained a comfortable home for her husband, children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Juana and Jim were able to travel throughout their country and the world. Juana’s travel experiences and large family led her to photography. She always had a camera close by and she assembled 200 photo albums of her family and her travels. Juana is survived by her four children, James Brent (Connie) McKinley, Robert Bruce McKinley, Beverlee Lou (Joe) Westenskow, and Bradley Elvin (Anita) McKinley. Juana is also survived by two very dear former daughter-in-laws, Ronna Lee McKinley and Ane Smith. Juana has 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Juana was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and friend to scores of loving people. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5322 North Evergreen, Spokane Valley, Washington.
