Letha Mae (Tucker) Potts went to meet her Lord and Savior on March 11, 2026. Up until her death Letha continued to care about others with a, “Are you hungry?” or “Are you warm enough?” and lastly “Are you okay?”
Letha’s life can be summed up simply: faith in God, family, friends, and a love of food. In her almost 99 years here on earth, she experienced an abundance of all of these.
Letha was born on April 30, 1927, in the small town of Alamo, Indiana. She joined an older brother and sister to complete the family. The town consisted of two grocery stores, a post office, a blacksmith shop, school and a barber shop. Letha attended Alamo School, graduated in April 1945 and married Keith Potts on April 14, 1945. Keith was farming at the time and Letha joined in the milking of the cows and all that farm life involved. Keith and Letha’s family grew to include three children, Sherman, Garry, and Laura.
After attending a revival at a little country church Keith and Letha knew they needed the Lord and accepted him as their Lord and Savior. Three years later Keith and Letha knew that the Lord was calling them to full-time ministry. Letha worked alongside Keith when he became a Pastor. They were part of Village Missions for 21 years, pastoring in rural churches in Washington and Oregon. Letha had the gift of hospitality as they often invited folks over for a meal.
Letha was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister, and brother. Her husband Keith died in 1990, and her son Sherman in 2010.
Letha is remembered by her son Garry Potts (with Barb), her daughter Laura McConahy (with Blake), her daughter-in-law Alice Potts, as well as 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Letha thoroughly enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening, canning, flowers, blueberry picking at the Morris farm and spending time with family and friends. She continued attending Foothills Community Church where they had pastored.
Most of all Letha loved her Lord and Saviour. Her desire was that each of you would know Him as your Saviour too. It is a decision that is for now and will last through eternity.
All who knew her will miss her laughter and her smile.
The memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on April 18, 2026, at Foothills Community Church, 11102 N Forker Rd Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foothills Community Church.
