(Age 90)
Lloyd passed away May 24, 2016. He was born on the family homestead at Mt. Hope, WA on July 10, 1925 to Roy and Lula Brim Seehorn. He grew up in Lincoln Hts. and with the rest of his family would ride anything on wheels.
He met Shirley Sherwin at Lewis & Clark High School and they were married March 29, 1948. Lloyd served in WWII in the Navy Seabees and was so pleased to go on the Inland Northwest Honor Flight in 2013. He and Shirley moved to Rockford, WA in 1954 where they raised their four children and ran Rockford Auto for over 40 years. He was Assistant Chief of Fire Dist. 11 for many years, past president of the SE Spokane County Fair, active in the American Legion and in many other community organizations. His family always came first, and he could always be counted on for help needed anywhere.
He loved riding motorcycles and snowmobiles with his son and grandsons and his Brush Bunch friends. He rode well into his 80’s and raced a 100 mile cross country at age 75. Lloyd will be buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery with his wife of 67 years and five generations of Seehorns.
He was preceded in death by wife Shirley and daughter Donna (Roger) Harris, his parents Roy and Lula, and brothers, Stanley, Neil, Glen, and Larry Seehorn. He is survived by sisters, Dwyla (Buck) Nelson, Peggy (Ken) Fallon, brother Ron Seehorn, son Stan (Lynn) Seehorn, daughters Jody (Lanny) Turner, and Gail (Norm) Kopp, grandsons Jason, Jon and Jeff Seehorn, Travis and Todd Turner, Lon, Rob and Joe Kopp, Russell Harris and favorite granddaughter Katie Harris, also his great grandchildren, Eli, Evan, and Sawyer Seehorn, Lena, Elsie, Kody and Karly Kopp.
Our thanks to his caring “family” of Orchard Crest staff, Hospice of Spokane, and Home Instead Senior Care. Also, thanks to our very special friend and “sister” Vicki Mithoug.
Funeral services will be held at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow. Burial is private at Mt.
