I stayed with Loyal and Valerie during my last 6 months of high school. Loyal was always interested in what teenagers were thinking or the music we listened to at that time. Loyal and Valerie were the kindest people I know and I am very saddened to hear of Loyal's passing beyond the veil but I know there is a joyful reunion with a daughter and other family members. God bless the Brocks at their hour of need.

I did not know Loyal for very long. I was a recipient of Meals on Wheels, where Loyal and Valerie were volunteer delivery drivers. I engaged Loyal and Valerie immediately when they delivered meals to me, and discovered their 55 year marriage and their deep love for one another. Loyal had a heart of gold, and he wore it on his sleeve. He was a very kind man, with deep affection for life. I regret his passing, and miss him dearly. I pray for Valerie's well being in the wake of Loyal's passing. She is right back out there still delivering for Meals on Wheels, and that is a testament to her strength. May God bless her in her journey now through life without Loyal.

My Condolences to the Brock Family.  I met Loyal when David and I visited him in Green acres Washington in 82 /83. He welcomed us with opened arms. He was a good man. I wish I'd gotten to know him better. 

We are the parents of Zach's wife, Rachel. We knew Loyal as a happy, energetic guy who was always preaching the Word.  He always spoke like a man who was in love with his wife, and looked fondly upon his children. Though we didn't know him well, he did a marvelous job raising Zach to be an outstanding young man, and excellent husband and father to our grandchildren.  Rest in peace, Loyal.

I was their home teacher a few years ago before they moved out of the ward. I always learned more from Brock then I could ever them him. Always welcomed in their home along with their dogs.  Brock always had good gospel stories to tell. You will be missed

When we moved back to Spokane in 1989, we were part of the same worship congregation as Loyal and Valerie Brock and their loving family (8th Ward of the Spokane East Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.)

We immediately felt their warm spirit of acceptance and love. We often wondered, how could so much positive attitude, humor, love of life, nature and neighbor be so prevalent in this one, loving, humble husband and wife couple?  Indeed they exemplified the mandate to "love their neighbor as themselves “

You are and will continue to be missed.  Our knowledge of the magnificent reunion you have already had with loved ones who have preceded you, tempers the sadness of the  irreplaceable void we now feel. Also  soothing  this loss is knowledge that you will continue to have opportunities to serve along side those loved ones for your Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ.  

Your life and example were a lesson to all of us.  Thank you, Brother Loyal. 


I will remember many things about you dad and will miss your presense dearly. From your never-waivering faith, never givingup on your missionary work and the calling to share the gospel. A man of science by profession, but a man of faith by lifestyle and example. Your non-stop awe of the gifts god, namely mother nature and this earth, highlighted by your love for John Denver, hiking, sight seeing, piloting small aircraft, and boating.

I fondly remember scouting and father son camping, you would pick us up in his boat at the end of a week long camping trip and take us out on the lake all day, you never had to ask if i was up for boating, i was there and ready to assist in the launch/piloting of the boat which you taught me at a young age.

When I became a father, you were always there to support and answer my silly questions, your love was so complete for my children, your grandkids, a warmth even I could feel when you interacted with them. 

Most of all, your un-ending dedication to mom, always holding her hand and making her feel special, your love for our family was never in question. When mom was diagnosed with parkinson's you didn't blink, you were there for her at all times with a smile on your face, ever patient and ever loving. I know you wouldn't have wanted to leave mom like this, but I want him to know that your children are here make sure mom will be cared for. 

Your lessons of how important it is to not only protect the ones we love, but all those who Jesus loves; treat other's as you would want to be treated. Even in his retirement he dedicated his time to meals on wheels, church work, and helping other's all around him.

Dad, thank you for the life you provided me, full of lessons, but always full of love, a solid bed rock which I've built my family upon. You will never leave my heart, my greatfulness for you is everlasting, love, your youngest, Zachary
