Born in Sioux City Iowa her family moved to Spokane when she was 7. She loved Spokane and worked many interesting jobs over the years - drug store Soda Jerk, Elevator Operator at the Bon Marche, 2- Swabbies, she particularly liked selling men’s clothes at JC Penney’s, Hammers, and the Clothes Closet. Her favorite job was managing the Thailand Exhibit during Spokane’s Expo 74 – World’s Fair. She often referred to herself as president of the “foot in the mouth club” and was world-renowned for her lack of patience. Mary Jane was her happiest while spending time at their Loon Lake summer home sitting at the picnic table with a cup of coffee and a slice of zucchini bread or at a lakeside potluck surrounded by her many friends and family who love her.
