

Myrna went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 18th, 2018 after a courageous, five month battle with Leukemia.
Myrna came to Spokane at the age of 5, where she attended Washington Grade School. She graduated from North Central High School in 1955.
Myrna married Bill, the love of her life on June 19th, 1955. She was employed by Pacific Northwest Bell while Bill attended college. After his graduation, the family made their home in Seattle WA, Las Vegas NV, Sacramento CA, and Chelmsford MA. After returning to Spokane, Myrna earned an associates degree from SCC, and Bachelors and Masters in Education from EWU.
Myrna then taught elementary school in Central Valley School District before retiring in 2000.
God and family were most important to her. She loved teaching children's Bible school and directing their Christmas Programs.
Myrna's greatest joy was hosting family gatherings. She also enjoyed working in the yard and craft projects.
Myrna is survived by her loving husband, Bill of 62 years; children, Susan (Kevin) Stonecipher, William Bud (Teresa) Gothmann, Mark (Jennifer) Gothmann; grandchildren, Shawn (Brenna) Slippy, Jared (Emily) Slippy, Chad (Lindsay) Gothmann, Alicia (Josh) Watson, Ally Gothmann, Taylor Gothmann; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Garrett, Claire, and Gracie Slippy, Trevor and Rachel Gothmann, Adam and Deklin Watson; sister-in-law Laura Nestoss; nieces and nephews, Linda Guiher, Kathy (Larry) Pintler, Kris Nestoss, Les II (Betty), and Steve (Patti) Nestoss.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Anna (1981) and Oscar (1983); siblings William (2009), Lois Guiher (2011), and Lester (2014).
Myrna Gothmann's funeral is set for Saturday, March 3 at 11AM at Sunrise Church of Christ, 4718 N. Ash St., Spokane. Light refreshments will be served afterwards. Flowers should be sent to Thornhill Valley Funeral Home, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley by 9AM on March 3. A short graveside ceremony will be held at 2:30PM at Pines Cemetery on March 3. Viewing will be from 1PM to 5PM on March 2 at Thornhill.
