She grew up on the South Hill with her two brothers, Robert (Bobby) and Glen, spending her time hunting and fishing with them. Shortly after Penny graduated from Joel E Ferris High School in 1967, where she sang with the Canterbury Belles, she went on to work at Rockwood Manor, where she eventually retired.
In 1969, Penny met Dean Kalinoski, of Spokane. Penny and Dean were married and went on to have two sons, Jeffrey (Jeff) and Brian. Penny found pleasure in watching her sons play soccer, gardening, spending time in the outdoors, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Penny was predeceased by her father, John, her mother Edna, and both of her brothers, Bobby and Glen. She is survived by her son Jeff and wife Shauna, her son Brian, her grandchildren: Jared, Brayden (Payton), Bailey, Alyssa, Sawyer, and her great granddaughter Maylee.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 am Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.
