Philip Marvin Yenney was born at home to Della Calder Yenney and George Yenney in Kooskia, Idaho on 7/16/1929. He and his dear sister Gayle (Veitenheimer) lived near and were close to their cousins Kurt and Pat.
Phil and his family moved to Spokane to find work during the Depression. Upon moving, Dad entered Gonzaga Prep School in the 7th grade where he met many lifelong friends. Dad began his career with “Ma Bell” telephone company soon after graduating and served later in the army during the Korean war.
Dad met and fell in love with Donnalu Wrinkle and they married on November 21, 1953. They had three daughters, Val (Rick) Parisotto, Carol (Brad) Reynolds and Kathy (Jesse) Knutson. The telephone company moved our family around the Inland Northwest throughout his 34 years of employment.
Dad was a doer! He loved woodworking and always had a beautiful project going. He and Mom built a cabin on Deep Lake in 1974 that has become a cherished place where the family continues to gather during the spring, summer and fall. Dad was also dedicated to St Andrew’s Episcopal Church and its members and always lending a helping hand wherever needed.
Dad loved many and was well loved back. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Donnalu, his three daughters and their husbands, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. We love you, dad. Thank you for all the inspiration and wonderful memories.
