

Sondra Lee Harrison was born on February 28, 1952, to the late Issacc Willie Harrison, and Alma Harrison in The Bronx New York. She was educated in the public school system and attended Jane Addams Vocational High School. At Jane Addams she learned the art of dress making and started working in a clothing factory after graduating from High School. She also made beautiful clothing for fashion shows, her family, and friends including her sister’s prom dress. Sondra worked at the clothing factory for approximately one year and decided to go to college.
Sondra attended Hostos Community College of The City University of New York and studied Liberal Arts. Upon leaving Hostos College she started working for the City of New York, Parks and Recreation Department. She continued working for the City for several years. Sondra was known for her vivacious personality, beautiful smile which could light up a room, her witty sense of humor and her straightforward nature. Her love of fashion was exemplified in her stylish outfits. Sondra loved spending time with her friends and family, her sister Willerma, brothers Omar, Albert, and Vernon. They had great times through beach outings, family fellowships, and trips.
Later in life Sondra relocated to San Diego California and continued to work for the Parks and Recreation Department at the City of San Diego. She also had the privilege through her employment to work as a starter at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla California, where Tiger Woods often played. Sondra continued to work for the City until she retired due to a back injury. She accepted Christ in her adult years and attended Greater Trinity Baptist Church, and Ambassadors for Christ Missionary Baptist, church for several years in San Diego.
Upon her retirement, Sondra relocated to Spokane, Washington with her partner Ernst Schrandt. She was welcomed and affectionately loved by the Schrandt Family. Sondra also loved them, and they became her extended family. She went to the family, functions, celebrations and holiday events. She had a special bond with Jackie and Paul Schrandt along with their children. Over the past three years Sondra’s health began to decline. She was assisted with her health care needs by Jackie and Paul Schrandt. Sondra was called home to be with the Lord on March 27,2024.
Sondra leaves to cherish her memory brothers Omar Harrison of Pensacola Florida; Albert Harrison of Pensacola Florida; Vernon Harrison of Baltimore; sister Willerma Harrison of San Diego; nieces Tiffany G. Harrison and Danielle M. Harrison of San Diego; nephews Omar Harrison Jr. of San Diego; Christian Harrison of Baltimore; beloved extended family Jackie and Paul Schrandt, Gretchen Sutherland (Josh), Kelsey Henderson (Ryan), Michael Schrandt (Samantha), Jordan Schrandt and a host of family and friends.
A visitation for Sondra will be held Monday, April 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 1400 S Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
A graveside service will occur Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Pines Cemetery, 1402 S Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, Washington.
