Stephanie Rasor passed peacefully on November 15, 2011. Stevie, as everyone knew her, was born in Kobylowoc Poland on January 14th 1921. Her parents immigrated to St. Catherines Ontario, Canada, which is where she spent most of her childhood. Stevie lived in various cities through out her early adulthood, subsequently became a naturalized citizen in the USA. In the early 50's Stevie moved to Spokane. Following that, in the early 60's she moved to Sandpoint to own and operate the Kamloops in downtown Sandpoint. Stevie's business acumen did not stop there. At one time, she owned three motels, the K2, Motel 16 and the S&W, along with numerous properties within the Sandpoint and Ponderay areas.
She was always busy...running errands...known driving through town with her hat barely above the steering wheel, or sometimes with a 2X4 hanging out of her trunk..and always her dog..first Lucky, then Dolly...sitting right there on her shoulder. Stevie's love for animals was evidenced by not only her contributions to the animal shelter...but always making sure that any stray was well taken care of. Stevie loved her community and cared deeply about the people and places she patronized. Whenever anyone needed help...she was always there.
Stevie is survived by her five children, Tamara Lauba, of Bellvue, WA Robbin McCrum of Sandpoint, ID Rick Rozzini of Los Angeles, CA Terry Rozzini of Kent, WA and Linda Herman of Liberty Lake, WA along with 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Stevie was also a very private person. Therefore, she had requested, that there not be a service. Instead people could pay their respects, if they choose, by donating to the Panhandle Animal Shelter or Hospice in her name. She was loved and will be missed by all.
