1930-2024
Don was welcomed into Heaven at the age of 93 years on February 2, 2024. Don Hauschild was born on September 5, 1930, in Evansville, Indiana, to Meta and Willard Hauschild. Don was the middle child, having an older and younger sister.
Don always had his roots in Evansville where he was raised. He loved Indiana! Don truly enjoyed the farm life in Evansville, but soon after high school decided to join the Air Force. Don was stationed at Fairchild Airforce Base. He valued the life-long friendships from his time in the service. While in Spokane, Don was in a wedding and fell in love with the bride’s cousin, his wife of 62 years, Mary Brischle. They were married in 1955. Don and Mary settled on Pleasant Prairie. It was there that they raised their three children: Steve, Mark, and Linda
Don spent nearly 36 years working for American Brands as a District Manager. He traveled extensively in the northwest and enjoyed meeting his clients and getting to know people. He could have a conversation with just about anyone. While he worked for American Brands, he also took over the family farm, growing primarily wheat and grass seed. Don loved to work. A vacation to him was working the fields. He found great joy in his work and was always working to perfect something. He was a problem solver and enjoyed the challenge farm life gave him. While his passion in life was work, it was the perfection of work tasks: milking cows, picking rocks, working the fields, and maintaining farm equipment. There was always perfection and a method to the quality of work that was done. Don made sure he passed this work ethic on to his children and grandsons.
Don was a long-time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and a retired volunteer Firefighter. Don is survived by children Steve (April) Hauschild; Mark Hauschild; Linda (Mike) Roth; Grandchildren: Tyler (Charis) Hauschild; Michael Hauschild; David (Christy) Hauschild; Bradley (Ashley) Roth; Matthew (Hannah) Roth; Great Grandchild: Sabina Hauschild
