Wilma Adamietz, age 95 was born September 24th 1928 to Friedrich and Luise Schwiermann in Essen Germany. After World War two she immigrated to America November 1947. She was always proud she immigrated legally and became a United States citizen in 1954. Wilma raised three children, daughter Karin, (husband Chuck Parker) Gerald Adamietz Jr (wife Helen), Eric Adamietz (wife Linda). She lived in Pittsburgh from 1947 to 1959, Salt Lake from 1959 to 1961 then Washington State for 63 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Adamietz Sr, her parents and two brothers Friedrich and Artur Schwiermann. Wilma greatest love was her children and the holidays, Christmas being her favorite. She would work all day preparing Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter Dinner. She would start baking hundreds of different German cookies weeks before the holiday, and decorated the house to the fullest with Christmas decorations. Wilma was a very hard worker and very smart. She taught herself to speak and write English. She was never without a job and was proud she never drew unemployment compensation. Wilma retired as a grocery store cashier, A&P, Safeway, and Commissary at Fort Lawton, Seattle, Paine Field, Everett and lastly Fairchild AFB. She lived in her home in Spokane Valley for 50 years, 19 years by herself maintaining the house and yard. In 2019 she moved to Harvard Park independent retirement home. Her apartment became her home and she made many new friends.
