Alma Grace McKee

McKee, Alma “Tootie” (Age 72) – died peacefully in her sleep on June 28, 2010, with her loving family by her side. Born in Mitchell, SD in 1937, Alma was strong in spirit and character, and didn’t believe in giving up. Alma constantly played Skip-bo and it was a rare occasion when her opponents ever won a game. An avid reader of romance novels, Alma loved to sit with her constant companion, Scamp, her dog. Everyone close to Alma knew better than to bother her between 11:00am and 12:00pm, in fear she would miss her beloved soap, “The Young and the Restless.” Alma is survived by her children, Phillip Lalley (Kris), Katrina Gable (Bill), Wendy Johndrow (Steve), Teresa Mitchell; and sisters, Peggy and Donna. Alma adored her nine grandchildren, living vicariously through their travels and adventures. One of Alma’s greatest joys in life was her only great-grandchild, Bradley, the apple of her eye. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald McKee; parents, Charles and Mary Cooper; brothers, Carl and Charles; and sisters, Amy and Beverly. Rest in peace, Alma. You will be greatly missed.
