Donald Alton Huwe

Don was born on August 27th, 1941 in Bristol, South Dakota to Alton and Ethel Huwe. Don graduated from Holiness Methodist School of Theology in 1965 with a Bachelors of Sacred Literature. Don started off his career by working at Lakeside Chapel as a pastor. Later on he worked in corrections for almost 40 years in the States of Montana and Washington. Don was deeply involved in counseling and building relationships with the youth and young adults he worked with in corrections and in multiple churches.

In 1965 Don married Jane Irene Gunsolley, another follower of Christ and the couple had two children together Jeremy and Jonathan. This devoted couple had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 18th, 2025.

Don was a steadfast Christian whose faith guided him in all of his decisions and choices in life. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and being outdoors. His family and friends will always remember him as a genuine, kind-hearted, faithful and hard-working man who put his family and friends first as he loved them deeply.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Alton and Ethel Huwe. He is survived by his wife Jane Huwe, sister Lavonne and Phil Schmalle of Yuma, AZ; his children Jeremy and Jennifer Huwe of Sherwood, OR, Jonathan and Amber Huwe of Mead, WA; his five grandchildren Maddie, Meg, Natalie, Chelsea and Travis.
