Douglas passed away at the age of 78, in Spokane Valley, WA. Doug is survived by his wife, Nancy Spaulding, daughter Rachel Spaulding, sister Garda Spaulding, brother David and wife Mollie Spaulding, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Doug was born and raised in Montana and after high school, he joined the Navy where he served as a Corpsman. After the Navy, he earned a B. S. in Business Finance from the university of Montana. In 1979, he met and married Nancy in Burlingame, CA.
He and Nancy enjoyed their sailboat for 10 years in Hawaii. Douglas then began studying Divinity at Nashotah House Seminary in Wisconsin which later led him back to Madera CA where he enjoyed singing in church choirs and performing Gelineau solos.
Doug worked for the Tax Assessor’s office in Madera County for many years and retired in 2011.
In 2023, Doug and Nancy moved to Brookdale Park Place, Spokane Valley where they were close to Nancy’s daughter. He will be dearly missed by friends, family and all who knew him.
