Mom, you were such a positive person.  You could do anything.  Take care of 
dad, keep the house clean, mow the yard, tend the garden,... And you still could whip up the ultimate batch of cinnamon rolls before anyone ever knew you were in the kitchen. Love you, Mom.. Miss you every day...  Denise

Oh Mom,  I still miss you every day!  Your funny jokes, your helpful hints, your recipe advice, your calming voice when life got crazy.  It was so easy to pick up the phone and call you!  I am sure you are watching over us now - and probably coming up with new jokes! 
You showed your girls how to be strong, independent, resourceful, faithful and loving. I cherish the years we had with you! And through all the hardships you went through..you were always fine!  I love you!  Darla

Dearest Mama,
   It has been nearly a year since your indomitable spirit was freed from your earthly body, and I have missed you dearly.  Yet I have so much to be thankful for.
   Your life was an example of how to live.  In all circumstances, you gave thanks to God and persevered.  I remember how hard you worked alongside Dad in the potato fields, managing the raspberry fields and the workers and the household, in Everson and Chewelah and Hawaii and Molokai and Bakersfield and....  You were the epitome of strength when Dad was nearly killed in the car accident returning from Quincy, when Dad's heart stopped beating from the insecticide on Molokai, when Dad was paralyzed in the accident in Hermiston, through bankruptcy and loss.  No matter how much or little you had, you always had enough to share with others - baking, sewing, canning, encouragement.  
   When your battle with cancer made it impossible to care for Dad in your Boardman home, we had to move you to Spokane for assisted living.  I know you hated the loss of independence, and yet you continued to crochet prayer shawls and make fudge for the residents of Brookdale.  Residents still remind me of how much you meant to them.  
   I believe you held on to life until after Eva's wedding.  And those last few days, it was so amazing that you never complained and were able to tell each of your daughters how much you love us and how beautiful you thought we were.  Mom, you were and are so beautiful.  Thank you for showing us what it means to be a good Christian woman, wife and mother.  I love you.

My dear Eiline
For over 58 years you were a vital part of my life for which I am eternally grateful.  You adapted to our many moves and through it all raised 3 daughters we're proud of.
I know how hard it was for you to leave your home in Boardman to live in Brookdale but it was necessary and you made many friends here. 
With nary a complaint, your 6 year battle against massive cancer amazed everyone, including the doctors. You can finally rest in peace.
My many thanks to all the relatives and friends who came, especially her sister Georgia who traveled from Kansas, to pay final respects to Eiline.
Thank you Pastor Paul for coming from Kennewick to conduct the service, Pastor Mike for use of the church, and Ball and Dodd for their assistance.
Eiline, you leave a void in my life that can never be filled.  I love you so much.  Rest until we can be together again.

Even though Jim and i have moved from Boardman, you both have been with me in prayers.  You two have a place in our hearts. Eiline did so much for everyone she knew.  She will be deeply missed.  Eiline will always be in our memories as well as yours.  Our prayers are with you and your family.

So sad to hear that Eiline passed away shortly after our visit.  We said just recently that we were real happy that we made the trip to Spokane so we were able to see both of you.
We had such a nice afternoon with Eiline and Denise.  Eiline seemed so excited and had prepared for our visit and brought old pictures from when Don and Eiline were in Sweden and from their wedding. Eiline seemed happy about the old memories from Sweden.  We also had a nice time together with Eiline and Denise at the Italian restaurant.  It was obvious that it was a big effort for Eiline to go out for dinner even if she really seemed to enjoy her time.  It was hard to see your struggles with severe health issues.  We got a note from Alan when he told us that Eiline had passed away shortly after our visit.
We think a lot about you Don and we wonder how life goes on for you now that you are alone.

Eiline was a volunteer at the Boardman Chamber of Commerce while I worked there.  We would hold volunteer training potlucks and Eiline would always make the most yummy dishes.  She was always willing to share her recipes and gardening tips with everyone.  To Eiline's family, I would like to express my condolences for your loss.  She was a real special lady and will be missed.

Although I only remember spending time with my Aunt Eiline for a short vist when I was a little girl I do remember having a great time. I also remember my aunt being a very beautiful woman.  I am Lena (Vollmer) Morford's daughter Joan.  Lena is Eiline's sister and passed away in 2005.  To all my cousins and relative's I wish my deepest sympathy.  You are in my prayers.
