

Passed away December 28, 2016, in Spokane, WA. He was born in Flemington, Missouri, to William and Bert Jenkins. As a young child his family moved to Richland, WA. After high school George worked at the Goodie Good Bakery in Richland. In 1958 he moved to Spokane to work as a baker with Rosauers. In over 42 years of employment with Rosauers George never missed a day of work. Also in 1958, George married Carole Novotny. George enjoyed traveling, camping, square dancing, motorcycle riding, and playing golf. He had been a part of the Esmeralda Men’s Club.
George was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law Al & Loretta Novotny; and brothers-in-law George Elkins and Larry Novotny. He is survived by his wife, Carole; children Michael (Cindy) Jenkins, Diana (Kelly) Burns, and Alan (Barbara) Jenkins; sisters Peggy Elkins and Sandy (Thom) McVeigh; grandchildren Robert, Jeremy, Bill, Anastasia (Chris), Ed, and Joey; and great grandchildren Evan, Emma, Tristan, and Nova.
Visitation will occur on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, from 9-11 AM at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N Monroe, Spokane, WA, followed at 11 AM by funeral services and a reception. Interment will be held the same day at 2 PM at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
