

Geraldine was born on October 21, 1932, in San Francisco, CA, to Lloyd and Mabel Parker. She lived there until the age of 3. She then moved to Kalispell, MT, where she lived until she was 19, when she moved to Spokane, WA. She also spent 3 years in Savannah, GA, and 1 1/2 years in Portland, OR, where she worked for the newspapers. She then worked for the Spokesman-Review for 17 years and had a home on Loon Lake for 33 years, 18 of those year-round, then moved to Spokanepermanently.
She was a member of the TCAA Art Club, Spokane Valley Eagles, and then transferred to Spokane Eagles Aux #2, Deer Park VFW Aux #3067, and Women of the Moose #74. She bowled in various leagues for over 40 years, loved playing music and singing in her bands, and traveled all over with Muggs and Norma Storro in their band, "Old Time Country," for 8 years. She played guitar, pedal bass, accordion, ukulele, banjo, and keyboard.
Geraldine was secretary for the Deer Park Eagles Aux for over 9 years and Spokane Aerie #2 for 45 years. She was an artist painting oil paintings since 1965. Her garage was an art gallery, covered wall-to-wall, as well as her home and her children's homes.
Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert, and oldest son Ronald Whitehead of Grand Coulee.
She is survived by her daughter Connie Stanton of Grand Junction, CO, son Richard (Gerry) Whitehead of Everett, WA, 3 granddaughters, Susan (Dan) Alvis of Rifle, CO, Lori (Lyle) Gilbert of Grand Junction, CO, and Ericka (Tandy) Brown of Tarpon Springs, FL, 2 great-granddaughters Shayla and Alayna Gilbert of Grand Junction, CO.
Interment will take place at Loon Lake Cemetery.
