Helen passed away peacefully on February 14, 2015. She was born on July 23, 1931 in Choteau, Montana to LeRoy and Violet (Thompson) Spangle. She lived most of her life in Spokane and she always remained quite busy.
Helen worked 55 years in retail, mainly on the North side of town; volunteered for 12 years at Holy Family Hospital; helped make over 1500 neck pillows for cancer patients, and also made over 100 baby blankets for the needy.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, and son John. She is survived by her sister Edith Hezlep and two nephews, all of Chillicothe, Illinois; and two granddaughters, one great granddaughter, four cousins and two nephews, all of California.
At Helen’s request, there will not be any services scheduled. Donations can be made in her name to the Shriner’s Hospital or to the Humane Society.
