Jimmy was born on May 21, 1964 in Texas City, Texas. He graduated from Southampton High School in Courtland, VA in 1983 and entered the United States Air Force that summer. He was stationed at Boulder AFB in Colorado, Lowry AFB in New York, bases in Belgium, Greece, and the Netherlands. After being honorably discharged in 1989, he worked various jobs until entering the Hopewell Police Department and then transferred to the Franklin Police Department, where he worked for 12 years and reached the rank of Detective. In 1997, he joined the National Guard, where he served three years. He retired and moved to Spokane Valley, WA in 2004, where he stayed until his final day of rest.
Jimmy is survived by his mother; Tem Golman (Mitchem) of Spokane Valley, WA, and his two brothers; Dale Golman (wife Sue) and Stephen Golman, also of Spokane Valley. He is also survived by his nieces; Ashley Larsen and Amanda Golman, and cousins; Lewis Morton, Jacob Morton, Toby Dawson, Aunt Suzie and Uncle Bill Read, Aunt Julie and Uncle Don Morton, and Grandmother; Margaret Mitchem.
Jimmy was a story-teller, an adventurer, and an avid fan of the Chicago Bears. There was no one immune from his curiosity, his stories, and sense of humor. There were so many things he accomplished in life and so many stories to tell. A simple few lines will never be able to cover all that he had done and state what he meant to his family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on November 12, 2016 at the Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 West Wellesley Avenue, Spokane, WA 99205, at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, Jimmy wanted donations to be made to:
