

1942-2020
On the morning of December 18, 2020 our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at his home with family by his side at 78 years old. Joe is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Mongeon. Children: Jacque (Larry) Davis and Steven (Lori) Mongeon. Grandchildren: Alyssa (Erik) Realing, Shaylee (Dillon) Hettinger, Blake (Alix) Davis, Morgan and Sydnee Mongeon. Great grandchildren: Taten, Paisley, Millie and Remi Realing; Sawyer and Josie Hettinger. His two sisters Bette Grenon and Connie Zeno and Aunt Betty Mongeon (90 years old). Many nieces, nephews, their children and his numerous friends.
Joe was born on April 19, 1942 in Burlington, VT. He graduated from high school and joined the army in 1961. After basic training, he was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA, where he met his loving wife, Sharon, of 57 years. They married in 1963, made their home in Bridgeport, WA and raised their family. He began his career as a meat cutter, then worked with Corp of Engineers at Chief Joseph Dam, retiring in April of 1984. Joe and Sharon moved to Spokane in 1995.
Joe was a member of Foothills Community Church, where he served on the Deacon Board, ushered and helped with VBS. He coached boy’s baseball and women’s softball. He enjoyed golfing, painting and woodworking and was also in a bowling league for years. He was a great dancer! Joe loved watching the Gonzaga Bulldogs play. Many hours were spent playing games and cards. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He was their biggest fan and attended as many activities and sporting events as possible.
Joe was immensely proud of his family and will be remembered for his love and generosity to them as well as many others. He will be dearly missed.
