A beautiful and loving child of God, born of His Spirit and washed in His Blood, Judith Lynn Plumb passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, October 11th 2018, after a several months long battle with injury and illness. Judi was born in Sioux City Iowa on September 27, 1941, and grew up in Denver Colorado, raised by her parents Tom and Helen Knuckles, graduating from South High School. While she was visiting her sister Kay in Spokane as a teen, she met her future husband, marrying James Richard (Dick) Plumb on July 28, 1960, and living in Spokane the rest of their lives. Judi's greatest joy was in raising her children Tom and Jennifer. While she provided them with all of the love and guidance they could ever need as they grew, she also joyfully served her Lord with her beautiful, rich alto singing voice. She was a marvelous soloist on Sunday mornings, and she sang in numerous vocal ensembles and choirs with Dick, traveling to area churches, and blessing those who heard the Word through song. Judi was never more happy or proud than when she became a grandmother to Delaney and Tamsen. She was a fixture at multitudes of basketball games and hundreds of softball games from their childhood through high school graduation, cheering them on as often as she could. She was never without praise for their achievements, especially Delaney's athletic skill and stellar academics, when talking to friends. Over the last few years Judi started participating in the Common Thread quilting group at church, learning a new skill and nurturing many new treasured friendships. She was truly blessed to have been able to cultivate a wonderful friendship with her sister Kay over the last several years as they went to Bible Study, sought out deals at garage sales and practically made Kohl's their second home on Friday afternoons. She continued to pour out her love on her children as adults, attending to their physical and emotional needs as she had the strength to do so, even while she suffered from chronic pain. Her selflessness and love indeed seemed unmatched, save only for the Love of our Savior. Judi is survived by her son Thomas J Plumb, his daughters Delaney and Tamsen, her daughter Jennifer L Plumb, her sister Kay Kinley, her brother Thomas Knuckles and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick Plumb and her brother William Knuckles. Even though we are immeasurably sorrowful that we have lost the presence of our dear mom, grandma, sister, aunt and best friend here on earth, our sorrow has been met and conquered by unspeakable joy in the knowledge that she is now pain free, whole in body and spirit, and rejoicing in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 11:00am on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Shiloh Hills Fellowship, 207 East Lincoln Road in Spokane.
